The challenge
Following successive funding rounds and rapid growth, the legal complexity and regulatory scrutiny facing Deliveroo increased significantly. The business needed a global legal and risk function that could enable a disruptive company to continue to move at pace.
What Scene built
Scene partnered directly with Deliveroo's leadership to map where legal, risk, compliance and data protection expertise was needed most, then ran the search across every level, from Exec-1 leadership through senior individual contributors. The focus throughout was calibre and longevity — hiring people who could scale with the business rather than filling roles reactively.
The outcome
The team navigated further funding rounds, new country and product launches, and one of the highest-value tech IPOs in the London Stock Exchange's history. Six teams were built with 50 hires delivered over two years, and 65% of IC hires moved into leadership.
