How Scene helped Pelago
Building product and engineering teams post-Series B
The challenge
Following a $64m Series B, Pelago had found PMF and initial US traction but needed to navigate the complexity of US healthcare and insurance to launch new products. They required the highest calibre of product person: someone who could take ownership of big, complex, business-critical problems and allow leadership to focus on commercial and product strategy.
What Scene built
Following an endorsement from Pelago's investor network, Scene was engaged and, in a two-month sprint, leveraged networks to place a three-person Product and Engineering team across the UK and US.
The outcome
The team enabled continued growth and subsequently led to a Series C shortly after.
What our clients said
Scene understand what good product work looks like, which many recruiters don't and have an ability to engage the very best, where other agencies can't

The relationship was built on trust and transparency, and I felt like you were on my side, rather than just trying to fill a role

The cost concern is a real fallacy - if you're a well-funded VC startup, spend the money on Scene / talent because the outcomes will pay for itself later
